KID’S RACE

The North Bend Trail Fest Kids Race gives young runners a chance to experience the excitement of race day in a fun, low-pressure setting hosted by our hometown Snoqualmie Running.

Starting at 8:30 AM, kids will get their own start line, their own finish line moment, and plenty of encouragement along the way. The goal is simple: make running feel fun, welcoming, and memorable.

Route: The route will follow around the playfield for around a quarter mile, and kids can do as many laps as they like in a 30 minute time frame. Often kids do 1 lap, and realize it’s a lot of fun to keep doing more. When they are done, they are awarded a medal by the race director!

Registration: Registration is free and day of. No pre-registration. Complete a waiver at the runner check in the morning of the event for your child to participate.

Age: 3-18, the majority of participants are ages 5-13. The Little Si 10k is a great challenge for your teenagers!

This race is a great option for kids who already love to run, kids who want to try their first race, or families who want to make North Bend Trail Fest a shared experience. Parents are welcome to cheer, take photos, and celebrate their kids at the finish.

Come ready for smiles, big energy, and a lot of proud little runners.

DAYCARE AT THE VILLAGE PROJECT

If your family is interested, please fill out our interest form. The service is contingent on enough families participating, so please fill this out by Wednesday, 8/26.

We know race mornings can be tricky for families, especially when parents or caregivers are racing. To make the event more accessible, we are attempting to offer daycare through The Village Project.

This gives parents the opportunity to race, volunteer, or enjoy the festival knowing their kids have a safe and welcoming place nearby.

Location & Tentative Schedule: The Village Project, 203 W 3rd St, North Bend, WA 98045. Within 10 minutes of race start/finish.

  • Saturday VK race tentative childcare window, 9:15am to 1:15am
  • Sunday 30k race tentative childcare window, 7:15am to 11:15am
  • Sunday 10k race tentative childcare window, 8:45am to 12:45pm

Cost: Childcare would be offered in 4-hour sessions, with pricing based on the ages and number of children participating. The maximum cost would be $25 per hour.

Daycare is contigent on enough participation and may be limited. Please fill out the interest form ASAP and we will be in touch!

Kid-Friendly Festival Activities

North Bend Trail Fest will also include several family-friendly activities around the festival area, giving kids something fun to do before, during, and after the races.

Click here for a map of Torguson Park. Race start/finish (including kid’s race) and the race expo will be taking place in the soccer fields with the race course heading East on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail. The playground is located right next to race parking, and the rock wall is in the southeast corner of the park.

Planned activities include:

  • Kid’s Race (see above)
  • A rock climbing demo at the outdoor Torguson Park rock wall. Highest route is a 5.6 on the Yosemite Decimal System, a difficulty regarded as great for beginners and perfect for your kid even if they have no experience.
  • Arts and craft space with WolfMother Workshop
  • Tots Lots playground area
  • Space to cheer on runners
  • Festival vendors and community booths
  • Additional Torguson Park amenities include bathrooms, a pump track, a skate park, and baseball fields.

These activities are designed to help kids stay engaged while families enjoy the event. Whether they want to climb, play, watch the race, or explore the festival, there will be plenty of ways for young attendees to be part of the day.

North Bend Trail Fest is a celebration of mountain running, outdoor community, and the next generation of trail lovers. Bring the whole family and spend the day with us in North Bend.
